Douglas N. Raucy – founder, director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Maison Insurance Company. Doug was also the founder, director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Access Home Insurance a Louisiana company, launched in October 2011. Access began with a take-out from Louisiana Citizens and is now entrenched in the voluntary market. Doug was director, founder, CEO/President of Prepared Holdings LLC, Prepared Insurance Company, Prepared Manager LLC. Prepared is a Florida based company. Prior to Prepared, Doug served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Business and Home Safety, a property mitigation firm that focuses on disaster-resistant structure research education. For twenty years, Doug was employed by Allstate Insurance Company. Doug’s most recent time was spend as Director and Founder of the National Catastrophe Team and National Catastrophe Center.
John S. Hill brings over thirty years’ experience to the Maison Insurance team. An alumnae of Iowa State University, completing his Bachelors of Science degree with a double major in Economics and Accounting, has served as CFO of several Property Casualty Insurance Companies including subsidiaries of publicly–traded WR Berkley Corp and The Travelers Insurance Companies. As a consultant, Hill was instrumental in the start-up of numerous personal home insurance companies and served various international insurance companies. As a CPA, Hill has served both life and P&C Insurance clients for over ten years with the public accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick in Des Moines and Minneapolis/St Paul offices. In addition to Hill’s education and experience he has served as a national insurance auditing instructor and peer review team member. His affiliations, associations, and memberships include an appointment with the Board of Directors of the local chapter of IASA in Tampa, Florida, a past member of the Board of the Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting Association, and is a current member of the AICPA.
Dan Case brings 20 years of progressive and leading-edge experience in financial services focusing exclusively on property insurance and reinsurance industries. Prior to joining Maison, he was an Executive Vice President at BMS Re and a founding partner at Advocate Reinsurance Partners where he led the property reinsurance practice and advised both personal lines and commercial clients in reducing catastrophe exposure. Dan began his career as a Banc of America analyst with its Securities™ Financial Institutions Group raising both private and public capital. He then joined Aon Benfield Securities growing its European markets, including structuring insurance linked securities for risk bearing entities, and later assumed leadership roles with HBK Investments and TigerRisk Partners. Dan obtained a B.A. in Mathematics-Economics from Wesleyan University.
Dean E. Stroud is Vice President of Operations and Chief Underwriting Officer of Maison Insurance Company. Dean began his insurance career with Audubon Insurance Company in Baton Rouge, LA in 1971. He subsequently served in various underwriting and management positions with Audubon, including Vice President and Senior Vice President, prior to becoming President and Chief Operating Officer of Audubon Insurance Group and President of Audubon Insurance Company and Audubon Indemnity Company in 2001. He has served as Vice President of MacNeill Group and managed their Louisiana operations as one of the initial service providers for Louisiana Citizens. He has also served as Chief Underwriting Officer of both Americas Insurance Company and Access Home Insurance Company in Louisiana. Dean has held positions on advisory committees to the Professional Insurance Agents of Louisiana and has served on the Board of Directors of the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University.
Demetrius Peoples brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience to Maison with 12 of those in the property & casualty insurance industry. His distinguished career includes working with insurers such as Tower Hill Insurance Group, AIG, Sawgrass and Nationwide Insurance Company. He has held numerous leadership roles and has devoted much of his time and efforts to the production and prosperity of the independent agent. In addition, Demetrius has been recognized as a top performer throughout his career and has had tremendous success growing businesses’ profitability while keeping a customer and insurance agent focus. Whether it’s a single product, a product line, a brand, or the entire company, Demetrius is able to incorporate a variety of input from creative, research, advertising, and the sales teams to ensure the ultimate policyholder experience. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Management from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Florida International University.
Marianne Parker-Brown is Assistant Vice President of Claims for Maison Insurance Company. Marianne began her insurance career in 1998 with USAA Insurance Company in Tampa, FL. She subsequently served in various claims and leadership positions with MetLife Insurance Company, Bankers Insurance Company to include over 10 years at Allstate Insurance Company and recently the past couple of years with UPC Insurance Company as their Multi-State Claims Manager where she managed 8 states to include Texas, Louisiana, North & South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Marianne earned the following insurance designations to include AIC, SCLA, and CPCU as well as her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Saint Leo University.
Brian D. Bottjer, CPA has served as our Controller since September 2014. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Controller of Maison Insurance Company since June 2015. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Bottjer served as Principal Financial Officer and Controller of Biovest International, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on developing a cure for various types of cancer of the immune system. Mr. Bottjer has also served in various financial and regulatory reporting roles for a number of other publicly traded companies in insurance, financial services, and retail including Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Allstate Insurance, Raymond James Financial, and the Home Shopping Network. Mr. Bottjer is a certified public accountant licensed in the state of Florida, and obtained his bachelor’s of science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
